My first skull is now complete. I don't usually do forms like this with all the detailing, like around the eyes, nose, and teeth, but it was really fun.
It's just not a complete piece without finishing the back. Here's the back of my little Orange Crush.
Sometimes I get a vision and it works out, sometimes it doesn't. My biggest fear with these forms was that you wouldn't be able to tell they were skulls after the mosaic was applied, but it all came together pretty well.
I'm excited to get started on some others, including this great platform boot. It's about 11" tall and I'm thinking about red with a black sole.
Cute little cupcakes.
I love this new fat heart. It's about 10" across.
It's supposed to be about 38 degrees in Kansas City today - a perfect day for staying inside and knocking out some mosaics.
