Welcome to Magpie Mansion

Magpie Mansion is finally complete.

This is a wildly colorful, topsy tervy, double-decker bird sanctuary wherein live the Magpies, the crazy bird family on the block, don't you know.

Complete with many buttons, beads, and gaudy hanging key rings.

I squeezed in a Victorian door hinge and the great flower candle holder. Super strong two part epoxy makes just about anything possible.

And one of my friends commissioned me to do a box for a friend.

This is a really cute, tiny box made for a couple of select treasures.

Lots of care and love went into it as I selected just the right dishes and beads.

And the switch plate features a pink shell. I thought it looked serene and could picture it in a bedroom, hence, the word "dream". I've already started the next birdhouse in the series, Sparrow and Son, We Buy Junk.

Wow! I love these. I had to go back and look at the pictures a couple of times. Very pretty!

I have heard that story on This American Life. We started listening on the way home from my mothers and wound up sitting in the driveway to finish listening. Even my boys, probably 8 and 10 years old at the time, sat and listened, too. It always bothered me what items were left behind!
