Mosaic Christmas Ornaments

I made some light-weight mosaic ornaments for the tree.  Gingerbread man, bell, and some Christmas lights.  (All sold, thanks!)

Can't Get Enough of the Trees

Here's another funky tree.  This one is fat - about 11.5" tall by about 11" wide.  It has several blue strings of beads and large blue ornament (bead) balls.  The trunk is brown and the whole thing is sprinkled with blue and white glitter to give it that holiday shimmer.  I used a really cool vintage blue and gold-toned brooch as the topper.

Christmas Time is Here

This pink mod tree reminds me of the ones on the lot when Charlie Brown and Linus went hunting for a tree for their Christmas play.  It's sprinkled with a good amount of pink and silver glitter to give it that flocked and shimmery look.  (Sold right out of the gate to a repeat customer.  Thanks, Nancy!!)

I'm currently working on a white tree with strings of blue beads.  Who says you have to be traditional?

Variety is the Spice, After All

Today was hectic.  I'm trying to put a few dog themed mosaics together for Raven in Lawrence.  Plus, I'll be participating in a Zaarly show on Tuesday night, December 11th and I wanted a few more holiday pieces.  Tomorrow, I'll do some grouting and then I need to work on some smaller things for the event.  I also got a text from my sister-in-law who wants an elephant plaque for my nephew - I can hardly wait to get started!  So many mosaics, so little time! 

This is the table in my foyer.  I've photographed the stocking and candy cane before, but the mother snowman is new.  I'm also working on another baby.  This one will have a red bow.

A Wee Baby Snowman

This tiny snowman measures about 5" tall by about 2.5" wide.  Dad and big brother snowmen are going to new homes, but before they do, I'll photograph the whole family.  Mom's still in production.  I had a lot of fun making holiday mosaics this year.

And starting tomorrow, I'll carry a few of my mosaics in my booth at the River Market Antique Mall.  I have a small display case and it will be fun creating pieces just for the mall.  Here are a couple.  First up, a butter dish in pink with skulls:

And I tried my hand at cutting out a skull.  I love this old medicine bottle - NOT something I recommend since it contains mercury!

JOY JOY JOY

I've been talking about how much I love my new jigsaw.  I wanted a "Dr. Suess" looking stocking, not a traditional fat one, so I cut it out!!  This one features a great rosette I picked up at a recent bead show.  It's a biggie - 17" tall by about 11" wide at the foot.

Next up, a candy cane in white, red and green stripes.  Another large piece at 17" tall by about 6" wide at the cane.

Rockin Around the Christmas Tree

I cut this tree out with my jigsaw and it really turned out to be fun and festive.  My friend, Teresa, bought it for her mom and is giving it to her early so she can enjoy it throughout the Christmas season.  I love it when people give art as gifts!

These carolers are actually bells with clackers still in-tact.
