Little Pink Teapot

This little teapot is for sale at the Phoenix Gallery in Lawrence, Kansas.  I just love that it's small - only about 6" tall.  Great details in the silver plate!!

Sparks Flea Market!!

Today was the Fall Sparks Flea Market and Elle, Nina and I had an awesome time, as usual.  I got so much kick ass stuff for the mosaics.  Pics of some of the sights on my other blog HERE.

Pics of what I bought coming soon.

Sparkin'

I almost always make it out to Sparks, Kansas twice a year for their huge flea market.  The same dealers are in the same places so it's easy to find my faves, including Billy.  He has good stuff, the prices are right, and who couldn't love a face like this?!

There were lots of pretty flowers at this Spring's show.

I fell in love with this farm table.

Another awesome table.

I found lots of mosaic ingredients including vintage aluminum coffee pots I'll be transforming soon.

A Mosaic for Mosaic

I got an email some weeks back from a woman named Amanda Nolen from an organization called Mosaic in Kansas City, Kansas. Mosaic has been around since about 1914 and in Kansas City since 1997. Their mission is to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities. Amanda had tripped across my blog and asked if I would donate a piece for their fist annual fundraiser.

My mother-in-law works for a similar organization in her hometown of Jasper, Alabama, so it was a cause close to my heart. I made a frame and finally got to use this great figurine I've been hoarding for a couple of years now.

It was great to meet Amanda, and the Executive Director, Lana Smith. I hope you'll call me again and good luck with your fundraiser, girls! To donate to Mosaic, please call Amanda at 913-788-8400 x 113.

Moon Marble Company

Yesterday, Jason and I took Dash to the Moon Marble Company in Bonner Springs, KS. What a great, locally owned shop where the owner, Bruce, did a marble-making demonstration complete with plenty of humor.

On the outside of the building, we were greeted by these great hand-made tiles.

There were many vignettes complete with various old games.

Lots of old, wooden marble runs, too.

Funky stuff all over the place.

Jason was very taken by the pink, flocked skulls "for girls."

Beautiful hand-made marbles. The owner featured work from many glass artists.

I know someone who goes crazy for these Chinese checkers marble games. I can't wait to tell her about this place.

Bonner Springs is a short drive from Kansas City and the Moon Marble Company is worth the trip!
