Amazing Blogland

Blogland is amazing. The part of Blogland where I live inspires me and surrounds me with others who have like interests. It is a place where we praise each others' accomplishments and lift each other up. It is a place where we are curious about each others' families and goings on and how we wound up doing the things we love. It is a place where people meet who would never in a million years cross paths otherwise. How amazing is that?

Last night, Patsy from HeART Works, who just happens to live in the Philippines, was kind enough to trip across my blog and post about it on hers. I awoke to a bunch of really cool and flattering comments from talented artists also from the Philippines and others as far away as the U.K. SO FUN!!!!!!!!! Above is a wonderful project that Patsy is currently working on, so head on over to her blog to check out the finished piece, coming soon. Thanks again, Patsy, for the shout out and for bringing me together with artists from far and wide.

Another great thing I awoke to today was my friend "Chippy" hanging out in his favorite place on my back patio. Maybe he likes the view?

Mosaic Tid Bits

Just a little of this and a little of that.

That tiny bottle contains saccharin pills, lumped together, but still in-tact.

I got the lighter at the artist's estate sale last week.

The Queen

I'm way behind in my mosaics. I glued a few pieces today and grouted these.

My favorite time to make mosaics is on a weekend morning before anyone else in the house is up.

And speaking of "garden", my landscaping is still alive!!!

No Custom Job is Too Small!

If you ever read my blog, you know I love to do custom work.

Here's a quick example of another piece I dropped off today. I think it's really cool that someone wanted this switch plate done up in mosaics. Talk about adding some interest in an unexpected place! I was told the customer's walls were raspberry, so this blend of colors
should be fun. I've been lax this week and need to hit it hard over the weekend, so more to come soon!

I Love Custom Work!

Someone came to me a couple of weeks ago and wanted me to make a mosaic frame for a towel that featured his son's hand prints.

I am not a framer, but teamed up with Lori Buntin at Hoop Dog Studio to make this project happen.

I had so much fun picking the items for the frame and putting it together was nothing less than joyous.

This is a present for this man's wife and I just kept thinking about how excited she would be to see something so personalized and professionally framed - something that would last for years to come.

I can't wait to hear about her reaction tomorrow!!!
