A Whole Lotta Custom

These elephants went to a customer in Lawrence, KS.  The mama elephant is 20" x 24" and the baby is 12" x 14".

This monkey is going in a little girl's room.  Another large mosaic (for me), about 24" tall.

Tiny K for the same little girl.

Larger D for the same little girl (who has an excited grandma who ordered these pieces!!).

This one is a tribute to Winston, the black poodle.

Letter G with a fun beagle.  I liked the way the dog looks like he's walking across the letter or standing in front of it.

Letter W for a garden lover.  Lots of dishes with leaves and flowers.

Gingerbread Girls

These custom gingerbread girls are going to someone's nieces for Christmas.  I cut them out of .5" plywood and they are about 11.5" tall and 9.75" wide.  I made the bows and squiggle accents out of polymer clay.  I have about a three day turnaround on my custom mosaics so please contact me if you'd like something special!

Custom Tribute Plaque

I am really excited about my latest custom piece.  My client's great grandmother, Mary, hand painted a lamp that got broken about nine years ago.  My client's mother inherited this lamp and was so upset when it broke.  Now, all these years later, the pieces have been repurposed into a plaque with Mary's picture.

Mary and her husband bought a restaurant called Rosie's in Wichita and kept that name for about ten years.  This chunk of vintage hardware with the rose in it is a nod to their business.

Mary was Italian and family was very important.  I think the beautiful deep reds in the lamp she painted give the plaque a very Italian feel.

Custom Dog Bone Leash Holder Plaque

This one was lots of fun.  I was faced with the challenge of how to put a hook for the leash holder on the usual 1/8" birchwood 2D frames I usually use.  I ended up buying a jigsaw and cutting the shape out myself from thicker plywood.  This opens up a world of possibilities!!!!!  Hope Oreo likes it!

STOP TALKING

I got a request several weeks back for a custom piece for a California customer.  The only instruction I received was that she wanted it to say "stop talking".  I had to think about it for awhile, but landed on this:
