Twilight
I've brewed up my latest mosaic based on my buddy Sharon's inspiration over at Sweet Repose. Her candles and soaps are to die for!!!! Twilight is one of her latest creations inspired by those sexy vampires we love to see in cinema today.

Something about antlers made them feel appropriate for this piece.
I picked up this old tin on a recent shopping trip and the colors were perfect for this piece.
"I Heart Vampires"! I very rarely use glitter, but a healthy dose was fitting the magic I was going for in the piece.
Just one of a bunch of tiny bottles I found yesterday. Liquid still in-tact!
Here's a peek of Sharon's room at Sister's Garden in Iowa, a great shop I had the pleasure to visit back in 2009. I'm dying for a return trip!
I can't seem to shake the hearts, they are so much fun. Here's one I made for a woman at work who's getting ready to have a baby girl named Ava. What a gorgeous name.
Another tiny bottle found yesterday . . .

Still hammering out several pieces including a fun butter dish and after having sold some things at Frank in Los Gatos, CA, I need to ship some more out West. Wish I had more time . . .

Don't Go Breakin' My Heart
Before heading to St. Joe yesterday to shop, Dawn and I stopped to take some pics of the window at Stuff in Brookside.
I'm super excited about the fact that the window is devoted to the promotional event I'm doing on the 31st. Here's the sign letting customers know that they can order their custom hearts today!
Meet the artist January 31st!! That's ME!!!
Some hearts in the window.
I dropped off more hearts today. Let's just say I got the post-apocalyptic look I was going for here and leave it at that.
A closer shot of "Our love will never die."
I think every girl should have a crustacean on at least one switch plate in her house, don't you?
Sorry these got out of order, but here's another shot of the window at Stuff.

Broken Hearts Club
Very soon, the owners of Stuff in Brookside will annunce a special Valentine's Day promotion!
I'll be in the store from 10 - 6 on Saturday, January 31st taking orders for custom mosaic Valentine's hearts.
Bring in that dish of your grandmother's you broke but won't throw away, a keepsake that only you and your best friend understand, the pocket watch you love but that no longer keeps time, and I will repurpose your pieces into a custom made, one-of-a-kind mosaic Valentine for that special someone (or yourself!!)!
Maybe you're not the standard red or pink heart-type. Maybe you want a black, orange, or turquoise heart. Maybe you want a message that's sweet, provacative, racy or raunchy. As the wife of comic book writer Jason Aaron, rest assured I am NOT easily offended!!
Two sizes will be available. The ones pictured above are about 6.5" tall. The larger size, not pictured, is 12" tall and will be available in a standard heart or folk art (skinny) shape without the beveled edge.
I am really looking forward to talking with customers face-to-face about what they want. When I get a call about a custom order from Stuff, I always have about ten more questions I'd like to ask the customer so I can get the order just right. Do you like buttons? Vintage jewelry? The color orange? Dinosaurs? Headless baby dolls? You get the idea.
