A Few Customs

These customs went to Berkeley, California last week and I have a few more going there this upcoming week.  These were very fun to do!!

Frame for Father's Day.

French-themed double switch plate.

My customer is French, so I added a Euro (or two).

Can I Get A WOOF?!

I wanted to make something special for Scott and Jeff to thank them for hosting my fabulous visit to Arizona. I decided when I was there on a frame - now, if I could only get Connor and Kayla to sit still long enough for a picture. Scott had to help.

An understated "woof".

Complete with dog bones, paws, and a fire hydrant of polymer clay.

Frame It Up

More custom frames on their way to South Carolina and hopefully warmer pastures . . . the high in Kansas City today was about 8!

This wedding frame was great fun to make and custom in every way.

I was going for some "WOW" with this frame of red and pinks.

Giant chunk of an old candy dish.

Isn't she cute?

I am a sucker for old bottles and this brown polish had the greatest red and black label.

I'm setting my sites on the dark side . . . a mirror with a Poe theme and maybe an "I heart vampires". I wish every day were Halloween!

Custom Christmas

A couple of years ago, a friend commissioned me to make a mosaic box for her husband featuring various comic book characters. This year, she asked me to do some for her brothers.

Jokers buried here and there and lots of bright joker colors.

And another with some Batmans - or is it Batmen?

Either way, these are fun to do and on their way to Denver now.

And I dropped this frame off this morning for Ken's girlfriend, Lisa. He gave me lots of fun stuff to incorporate. Once again, so much fun!!!!

Why I Love Custom Work

I got an email a couple of weeks ago from Cindy, a woman who tripped across my blog and was interested in a custom frame to celebrate she and her boyfriend's first year together. WOW was it fun to make this frame!!!! Below is Cindy striking a pose with it.

So joyful and full of color!!
With some fun customized references . . .

Congrats again and here's to year two!

And I made a fun custom switchplate that went to San Francisco recently for a dog lover.

WOOF!

Shameless Bragging

I blogged a few posts back about this custom frame I made for the fabulous RM Guera co-creator with my husband, Jason Aaron, on Scalped.

I loved the thought that the frame was custom made and traveling all the way to Spain for Guera. How giddy was I to see this email he sent to Jason?

I'm speachless man, goodies, just came, I just dunno what to say...
Thank you & ESPECIALY thanks to Kelly (I got tired of "your wife" phrase)
I was caught TOTALLY off guard with "DAD"...speachless man, really. When I meet her,
I'll kiss her & you can go jump in the lake...
(...) ...just phew...(...)

I Love Custom Work!

Someone came to me a couple of weeks ago and wanted me to make a mosaic frame for a towel that featured his son's hand prints.

I am not a framer, but teamed up with Lori Buntin at Hoop Dog Studio to make this project happen.

I had so much fun picking the items for the frame and putting it together was nothing less than joyous.

This is a present for this man's wife and I just kept thinking about how excited she would be to see something so personalized and professionally framed - something that would last for years to come.

I can't wait to hear about her reaction tomorrow!!!
